The Rutherfordton Public Works Dept is seeking motived young students who are interested in public service or just gaining hands-on experience with all of the fields required in the delivery of Public Works. This summer job will consist of experience in construction, landscaping, mowing, utility maintenance, facility maintenance, and many other tasks to give you the best all-around exposure to Town operations.
Work will last from approximately June to September 2021. Work hours are Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., 32 hours per week without benefits minimum but can work 40 hours per week if preferred.
Qualifications: -Must be 16 years of age – valid NC driver’s license. The ideal candidate is a rising junior or senior high school student that is looking at exposure to Town Operations and vocational trades work.
