A resident of Rutherford County since 1976, Dancy has lived in Rutherfordton since 1978. After completing his Army service, he began his career with CitiFinancial where he retired after 37 years .  Mayor Dancy is married to Ginger and has one daughter, Suzanne.  Dancy is a member of Rutherfordton United Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club of Rutherfordton, Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity, and the American Cancer Society’s Rutherford County Relay for Life.  Mayor Dancy serves on the Boards of Rutherford Town Revitalization and on the Rutherfordton Recreational Trust Fund.  Dancy has also been recognized and awarded the Governor’s Volunteer of the Year in 1990.  He was elected to Rutherfordton Town Council in 2001 and elected Mayor in 2009.

Henry and his wife Nancy Morris Giles (a native of Rutherfordton) moved to Rutherfordton from Cowpens, SC in 2002. He has worked at Spartanburg Community College since 1969 and has served as Executive Vice President for Business Affairs since 1993. Henry obtained his associate's degree from Gardner Webb Junior College and his AB degree in mathematics from Converse College. He also completed graduate work at the University of South Carolina and Nova University. Henry is a member of Rutherfordton First Baptist Church. He was active in the Spartanburg community before relocating to Rutherfordton. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Rutherfordton and has served in various offices with the Club, including president. His hobbies include golf, yard work, and travel.

Councilmember Bare moved to Rutherfordton in 1992 and married David, a long time resident, in 1993. Bare is originally from Oklahoma City, OK and is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business Management. She worked in the insurance industry for 10 years before becoming a mother to Christian and Emily. Councilmember Bare has served on Town Council since 1998. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rutherfordton, Rutherford Women's League and Rutherford Outdoor Coalition. Council committee experience has included, Rutherfordton Clubhouse Restoration Committee, Community Development Board and Streetscapes Committee. Past Civic duties include Rutherfordton Garden Club, BB& T Rutherford County Board of Advisors, Board of Directors of Rutherford Town Revitalization, Board of Directors Kidsenses Interactive Children's Museum and former member of Town Planning and Zoning Board.

A Rutherford County native and 1976 graduate of R-S Central High School, Councilmember Cobb began serving the Town of Rutherfordton in 1979 as a member of the Rutherfordton Fire Department. Cobb was appointed as Assistant Chief in 1996 where he served until retirement. He remained with the Fire Department until elected to Council in 2005. Cobb is currently employed as a Building Inspector with Henderson County. Cobb serves as a member of The Community Development Board and Recreation Committee. Councilmember Cobb has been an active member of The Rutherfordton Little League since 1988 and was elected as North Carolina’s District One Administrator for Little League Baseball, Inc. in 2006. He‘s married to Donna and they have three daughters, Suzanne, Brooke and Whitney and two very special grandchildren, Payton Elizabeth and Clay Anthony.

Stan Clements is a native and life long resident of Rutherfordton. He is a 1970 graduate of R.S. Central High School and a 1974 graduate of N.C. State University with a B.S. degree in Textile Technology. He continues to be employed in the U.S. textile industry where he has enjoyed a 35 year career working in numerous managment positions. Stan is married to Deborah Clements and they have one adult son John. Stan is a member of the First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton, the Rutherfordton Kiwanis Club, and is a founding member of the Rutherfordton Historic Preservation Commission. His hobby is woodworking and he enjoys watching NASCAR racing, NC State football and basketball.
